On 1 October 2008, Mr. Harald Stein assumed office as President of the Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement. Also on 1 October 2008, Mr. Reinhard Schütte became new Vice-President of the Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement.

On Monday, 29 September 2008, Detlev Petry, the President of the Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement (BWB), was retired by Dr. Franz Josef Jung, Federal Minister of Defense, at the Saal des Heeres at the Falckenstein-Barracks in Koblenz. Mr. Petry had been President of the Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement for almost eleven years.

Werner Hahlweg Award 2010 - Call for Participation

In 2010, the Prof. Dr. Werner Hahlweg award will be presented again. Every other year, this award honors research papers in the areas of military history and military science. A prize money amounting to a total of 11,500 € will be awarded. Details on how to participate can be found in the enclosed posting.
