The BWB Project Directorate
The far-reaching changes that have occurred in the security situation of Germany and the resulting adjustments in the spectrum of tasks of the German armed forces call for a thorough renewal process, which is referred to as the "Transformation" of the Bundeswehr.
An essential point in this concept is to provide the armed forces with a network-enabled capability (NEC) for joint operations. This requires cross-divisional coordination, which is ensured by the head of the Project Directorate, as all BWB project divisions contribute to the implementation of NEC by means of individual projects.
The head of the Project Directorate is responsible – within the framework of the BWB responsibilities – for all measures related to the transformation, NEC and Concept Development and Experimentation – CD&E.
