Defense Symposium “Marine Insulation“
Between 22 and 24 April 2008, the WIWEB will hold a symposium on “marine insulation”. It will take place at the WIWEB branch office in Wilhelmshaven.
Insulating materials have many important functions on ships such as fire protection, thermal insulation, and acoustic insulation (also for the purpose of signature reduction). The best possible effects can be guaranteed if modern materials are used. Various problems may result from the conflict between the requirement for insulation and the properties of the insulating material as well as ship building aspects and cost aspects. Insulating materials may behave unfavourably in fire or release hazardous substances.
During the symposium, current problems will be discussed, the best available technology and new solutions in the field of insulation will be presented. The program flyer gives an overview of the presentations held during the symposium and the schedule.
Please register for the symposium using the registration forms until the end of March 2008. The presentations will be stored on a CD which will be distributed to the participants at the end of the event. They may also be obtained via the staff of WIWEB Erding.
