WIESEL 1 Weapon Carrier
The WIESEL 1 weapon carrier was developed by Porsche as a highly mobile, lightly armored and highly combat capable system with different types of armament: automatic cannon (MK 20) and guided missile TOW (Tube-launched, Optically Tracked, Wire-guided missile).
Series production was carried out by the company Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH (formerly Maschinenbau Kiel GmbH). Thanks to the WIESEL's low weight and small dimensions, two vehicles can be accommodated in a CH-53 transport helicopter. Thanks to these properties, the WIESEL 1 Weapon Carrier has become an indispensable asset during airborne operations, evacuation missions as well as patrol and surveillance missions.
Owing to its night vision and night combat capability, the WIESEL 1 Weapon Carrier can be used around the clock.
