A helicopter family of the 9-to-10 ton class for transport and navy operations is being developed within the framework of the quadripartite project NH90. France, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany participate in the development. Starting from a common baseline helicopter, two basic versions will be developed: a navy helicopter (NFH) and a transport helicopter (TTH). Requirements deviating from the baseline helicopter will be commissioned as national variants (e.g. one version for the German Army, two versions for the German Air Force).
